A lot can happen in 8 months

I can't believe it has been 8 months since I've updated! Right after my last update Brian interviewed for, received, and accepted a job in the Augusta, GA area. While we were home in MI for the holidays we came down to GA with Kendall and did some house hunting. On our second day we found a new construction home that fits our current needs perfectly!

Life in the South has taken a little getting used to. We left Illinois with 30+ inches of snow on the ground in February and started going to the lake about two weeks later in Georgia! The weather has been wonderful, our neighborhood inviting, and the people have been nice. There are produce stands every couple of miles and it's true ~ There's nothing like eating a Georgia peach that has been fresh picked from the orchard. What Iowa is to sweet corn, Georgia is to peaches.

We had to say goodbye to some good friends when we left the midwest and miss them dearly! Zylstras, thank you again for your help with our garage drywall and for being fabulous people. I miss watching your precious little girls grow with my kids. When we first moved to Iowa / Illinois, all we could think about was how we were getting out and now we talk about going back! It's funny how your priorities shift as your life changes.

In 8 months the little people have grown a bit too! We've celebrated Miss Kendall's 1st birthday and JC's 3rd birthday in that time. Kendall has started walking, talking, running, and developing quite the little personality. She is my girlie girl. She loves clothes, shoes, play jewelry, and having her nails painted. She can also be a bit feisty and stubborn when she wants something. She started sleeping all night right around 15 months (finally!) and we're still nursing once a day right before bedtime. She's the sweetest little girl and watching her grow into a toddler makes this
mama ready for another baby!

Jackson is becoming more kid and less baby everyday. It seems as if there was this magical shift right at his third birthday. I can clearly put my finger on it. His vocabulary amazes me and I ofter wonder where he learns things! His interests include: cars, dinosaurs, anything Pixar, and he's really starting to show interest in planets, stars, the moon, rockets, etc. He's the most stubborn and strong willed little boy I've met. He's been so good at potty training, once he decided to of course, and we're down to only wearing diapers at night and nap. He's constantly asking to go to school so we're looking at starting a two-three day program this fall. He loves helping Daddy out with whatever task he's working on and playing with his sister most days!

We're not quite sure what our next step will be or where it will take us. For now, we're enjoying the South and all that comes with it. We've already taken two trip to the East Coast and plan to get down to Disney while we're in driving distance too.
Until next time .........
