Summer

I love summer. I love the feeling of sun on my skin, the smell of the blooming flowers, the golden color of the wheat behind our house, the corn getting tall, the lightening bugs, fresh vegetables from the garden . . . I could go on and on. I love the evenings as I sit in my quiet house with babies sleeping, crickets chirping, and the windows open with the breeze coming in. If only I lived somewhere I could enjoy it more than the three months we get.

The yard is in full bloom and we're still trying to figure out what everything is and determine what we want to keep, move, thin out, etc. It's nice to have all the flowers, but the yard is a ton of work!

The garden is also coming along quite well. We have 14 tomato plants, 12 pepper plants, broccoli, squash, cucumbers, beans, peas, carrots, red onions, yellow onions, corn, watermelon, cantaloupe, pumpkins, sunflowers, basil, mint, and oregano planted. So far, it looks like everything other than the watermelon is going to take.
