Living Green-ish

So we started dabbling in cloth diapers when Jackson was about a year old and decided to cloth diaper Kendall as soon as her little legs got a bit bigger. We are now cloth diapering about 70% of the time. I'm working on building up my stash to have enough to do laundry every two days. It's so easy (not to mention cute!) and long gone are the days of diaper pins and rubber pants. I'm really enjoying the experience and wish I would have started much earlier!

Also this weekend we started composting. It's another thing that I've been talking about doing for awhile now and finally got it going. My goal for this week is to get the garden space prepped and ready for planting hopefully the weekend of the 18th. I love, LOVE, garden tomatoes.

My next project is a rain barrel. We have almost an acre of a yard and only one faucet. So instead of dragging a hose all over the yard, I want to put a rain barrel at one down spout that has trouble keeping up during the infamous Midwest rains.

I never thought I would turn into a "crunchy" mom - breastfeeding, cloth diapering, baby wearing, composting, garden growing, etc, but I love it. I know there are A LOT of additional things I can do, but these are the things that I have decided to do to make a difference for our family!
